The watch has a signed Swiss stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has a long service inscription from The United Alkali Co Ltd, which later went on to merge with other companies to form the Imperial Chemical Industries Ltd.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case backs for Birmingham 1927 with maker’s marks for Aaron Dennison of the Dennison Watch Case Company, a prolific manufacturer of cases for various watch makers. The case has some surface scratching to the back but otherwise is in good condition, and the engine turned detail is still nice and crisp.
The lens has light marks, barely discernible to the naked eye.
The dial is in lovely condition.
