A very attractive late 19th century Black Forest extending book rack carved in the form of oak leaves and acorns. The whole can be folded flat with the end leaves being on brass hinges.

There are some signs of wear commensurate with age, most notably some light staining to the rack base, a small chip to a leaf edge on one side and an area of historic worm to the underside (which has been treated in abundance of caution). The whole piece nonetheless remains very attractive with nice crisp detail.
