Late 19th Century silver pocket watch
Late 19th Century silver pocket watch made up from other antique watches.
Someone, probably a long time ago, has gone to a lot of time and trouble to make sure that all the components fit properly and work nicely and they have actually created a very handsome watch that looks the part at a very good price.
The watch has a Waltham key-wound movement, model 1883, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number dates it back to 1892/93. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch itself measures 53mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Chester 1878, together with a maker's mark for the Coventry silversmith Edwin Lee.
The enamel dial is signed with the name of a retailer, Fattorini & Sons, Bradford. There is a short hairline crack between 3 and 4.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
