A handsome and practical solid oak Welsh corner display cabinet dating from the late 18th Century. Designed to maximise storage while occupying minimal floor space, the cabinet features a moulded cornice with dentil decoration above a pair of glazed display doors enclosing shaped display shelves, ideal for China, glassware or decorative objects.

Beneath the glazed section are two full-width drawers, each retaining their original turned wooden knobs and decorative diamond-shaped bone escutcheons. The lower section provides enclosed cupboard storage behind a pair of panelled doors, opening to reveal fixed shelving suitable for larger household items.

The cabinet is well proportioned with fluted corner pilasters and attractive quarter-sawn oak grain throughout. Its simple yet elegant design allows it to complement both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Dimensions W:115cm (across the front) x H:204cm x D:60cm Category Antique Furniture Period Late 18th Century Antiques Material Oak Origin Welsh Condition The cabinet is in good, honest antique condition with the expected signs of age and use accumulated over more than two centuries. • Original turned wooden knobs throughout. • Attractive bone escutcheons remain intact. • Original glass appears to be present. • Good colour and patina to the oak. • Internally clean with solid shelves and drawers. There is a small section of moulded cornice missing from the upper left-hand corner, visible in the photographs.
