Large WW1 era gents trench wrist watch.
The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement which is working nicely.
The watch measures 39.5mm diameter excluding the onion winding crown and the fixed wire lugs. The case is nickel and it is in good condition with just surface marks and scratches, overall good condition for such an early piece. The case back has the name F Davenport neatly hand scratched twice into the case back.
The inside of the case back has further details scratched into it. This time for a Private A Davenport. It is a little tricky to read but appears to refer to AOC, the Army Ordnance Corps (which became the Royal Army Ordnance Corps is in 1918). There is also an address in Lavender Hill, London and a number 11442, possibly a rank number.
The watch glass is in good condition.
The enamel dial has a few fairly faint hairline cracks radiating out from a point on the subsidiary seconds dial. Original hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
