A handsome large Staunton style chess set in Boxwood dating to c.1900.

The set remains in very good overall condition with wear commensurate with age and use. One of the bishops has a chip to the base (see photo), mentioned and shown for accuracy.

The box comes in it's original wooden box signed on the underside by the London retailer "Benetfink Cheapside London" Benetfink had large premises on Cheapside from 1845 to 1907.

The king measures 3 1/4" tall and the box measures 8 1/4" x 4 1/2" x 3 1/4".
