An early 20th century large leather hat box with a plush interior, stamped 'T. Evins, Exeter. T. Evins were based at 111 Fore Street, Exeter in the early to mid-20th century and retailed 'Travel & Fancy Leather Goods'.

This is a substantial piece (weighing 6kg), of good proportions and fine quaity throughout. The box shows scuffs and wear to the extremities giving the leather a lovely timeworn appearance. The lid is opened using the English Lever clasp mechanism, which remains in perfect working order.

The interior retains its original plush pink lining which has some small areas of marking but generally remains in a good condition throughout.
