Large Leather Armchair by Søren Nissen & Ebbe Gehl

Dating from the late 1970s, this distinctive armchair, covered in brown (copper-coloured) leather, was designed by the very successful partnership of Søren Nissen (B.1944) and Ebbe Gehl (B.1942).
Raised on nicely shaped ebonised feet in a somewhat Art Deco style frame of robustly padded back and armrests with deep, comfy loose cushions having a leather ‘strap-like’ feature instead of buttoning. This is a rare find in such wonderful, original condition - overall condition is extremely good for a vintage item with only minor scratches and minimal signs of use with no tears to the leather.
Dimensions: Chair H 70cm, D80cm & W95cm.
(A matching 3-seater sofa is available - see separate advert.
Sofa L 215cm H 70cm, D80cm )
About the Designers:
Søren Nissen (B.1944) and Ebbe Gehl (B.1942) having both trained as cabinet makers in Copenhagen and studied design at the School of Applied Art and gained wide experience both in design studios and teaching before creating a partnership in the 1970s as furniture designers. That very successful partnership
received many international awards and recognition particularly for their designs and craftsmanship which endures to the present day in the Naver Collection.
