A substantial hand-knotted Turkmen Bokhara rug from Central Asia, dating from the early 20th century.
The deep madder-red field is decorated with rows of traditional gul medallions, accented in golden yellow, navy, and black. Multiple geometric borders frame the central design, creating the classic repeating pattern associated with Bokhara weavings. This rug’s bold palette and large size make it both a decorative statement piece and a fine example of Central Asian craftsmanship.
Origin: Turkmenistan / Northern Afghanistan region
Date: c. 1900–1930
Materials: Wool on wool, hand-knotted with natural dyes
