Here we have for sale a rare & large antique bronze astronomical sundial top, signed by what we can decipher as “G Horrocks”.

Measurements are as follows

Diameter of the sundial = 35.56 cm
Thickness of dial plate = 6mm
Weight of the dial = 5.9kg
Width of top edge of gnomon = 7mm
Width of the noon gap = 7mm

We believe the Lat / Longitude to be 53, 45, 51.

We believe the date to be MDCCCXLII (1842).

The words starting "BEFORE", which circumnavigate the dial in the first inner ring, we believe to read "BEFORE CLOCK AFTER SUN" "AFTER CLOCK BEFORE SUN".
