Large antique 1892 silver Waltham pocket watch.
Large antique 1892 silver Waltham pocket watch.
The watch has a key-wound movement which is working nicely. ( A winding key is included )The movement is signed Am Watch Co, Waltham, Mass and has the serial number 5485310 which tells us that it was made between August 1892 and May 1833. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 57.5mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and has Birmingham hallmarks for 1892 with a maker’s mark for Alfred Bedford, the manager of the London branch of Waltham. . The case has light surface marking from use but overall it is in nice condition for an 1890s piece.
The glass lens has minor marking from use but overall it is in nice condition.
The signed enamel dial has a very faint hairline crack between 3 & 4 but overall it is in nice condition.
The watch has gold hands and a blued steel sub seconds hand.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
