Large 19th Century English Terracotta Garden Urn attributed to
John Marriot Blashfield

A wonderful early, terracotta urn displaying great decoration.
Standing at 80 cm high & 63 cm diameter
A internal good depth of 45 cm allowing for large size shrubs

A drainage hole through the base ensures that your plants will not become waterlogged.

The urn has had repairs. The broken handles have been removed & the figure heads made good.

There are a number of visible minor cracks which are of no determent as these urns are made with steel framework.

John Marriott Blashfield was a property developer and mosaic floor and ornamental terracotta manufacturer. He originally worked for the cement makers Wyatt, Parker and & Co in Millwall, but moved the business to Stamford in Lincolnshire in 1858, when it was renamed The Stamford Terracotta Company.
