Victorian Lace-Paper Valentine circa 1840's. . Flower is made up of silk leaves, flower scraps and hand painted stem and leaves. Verse hand written. Embosser Josep Addenbrooke, the inventor of Lace Paper. Addenbrooke worked for 'Dobbs' in 1834, where he invented Lace paper quite by accident. He then set up his own successful business of lace paper embossing. Addenbrooke's name is in the right hand corner above the border. The Card is un-used.
