J W Benson ‘The Bank’ silver hunter pocket watch
J W Benson ‘The Bank’ silver half hunter pocket watch.
The watch has a English stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed The Bank, Best London Make, J W Benson, Ludgate Hill, London, and it is all protected by an inner hinged cover which has been engraved, ‘Amos with love from Mum & Dad’.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside all three covers for London 1913, with a sponsor’s mark for J W Benson Ltd. The case is in good condition, just general light surface marks.
The front cover has a central lens surrounded by enamel filled Roman numerals.
The winding crown pushes in to release the front cover which is then opened manually.
Inside, the lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in lovely condition with original pin-set blued steel hands, including the special half hunter hour hand so the time can be read when the front cover is closed.
The watch comes in its original J W Benson presentation box.
