This is a heavy antique tobacco keeper. An English, lead decorative snuff box with tamper, dating to the William III period, circa 1700.

Strikingly decorated late-17th century keeper, with wonderful detail
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order
Weathered lightly, the stout lead exudes aged character
Substantial weight of 2.74kg (6.04 lb) and a cool, tactile feeling in the hand

The domed lid topped with a finial bearing a resemblance to William Shakespeare
Each side hosts an ornate hunting scene frieze
