Gorgeous small size 18th century George III mahogany knife box in original condition. Nice shape box with dyed sycamore line around the edges. Beautiful shape original brass lock plate and lock, brass lion feet and very nice original brass plate lifting handles to the sides. Brass ring handle to the top is also original with nice shape original brass hinges to the back.

The inside has not been converted and retains all its divisions and top part with a boxwood and ebony star inlay to the inside of the lid.

The overall condition is very good but there are a couple of small old veneer repairs to the outside and there are a couple of old repairs to the inside top part with the holes in it.

This is one of the smallest knife boxes I have seen. The box retains original patination and is a nice colour with waxed finish.
