Good Elgin Military Pocket Watch c1943
A good, gentleman's, World War II era, American Elgin Military Pocket Watch.
The black dial is in very good condition, it has the hours in Arabic numerals, with a sub seconds dial at six o'clock. It is signed by the maker "Elgin" (see photo).
The base metal watch case was made by the Keystone Watch Case Company, it is in excellent condition, but with wear to the plating as is normal with this type of watch. The case with the British M.O.D. broad arrow symbol and the issue number A05666 although this is quite worn.
Both front and rear covers screw off smoothly as they should. The inside of the rear cover stamped with the case maker's name Keystone.
The rear case cover screws off to reveal the 9 jewel Elgin movement. It is signed by the maker "Elgin Nat'l Watch Co., USA". The serial number 41,389425 dating the watch to c1943. The watch is stem wound and set.
A lovely watch in good condition, it would make a great addition to any collection.
