Gold pair cases, rack lever - Roskell, 1807
A fine quality Liverpool rack lever, in gold pair cases, in exceptional condition.
MOVEMENT Nice quality gilded rack ever fusee movement, with blued screws, diamond endstone and removable gilt brass dustcap. Signed and numbered (3611). All in fine original condition and running well.
DIAL Cream enamel. Perfect condition except for just one tiny flake at the centre aperture. Nice matching gold skeleton hands.
INNER CASE Hallmarks for 18ct gold, London, 1807, maker SB. Nice condition throughout. The case snaps shut nicely and the high dome crystal is fine. The bow shows a small amount of wear at the top.
OUTER CASE Gold hallmarks matching the inner. Very nice condition throughout, with one small bruise on the bezel near the catch and an old repair to the inside of the hinge. The case closes correctly.
The cases, excluding crystal and movement, weigh 63.7 gms.
Robert Roskell is listed in Liverpool and London between 1798 and 1830.
