Gold pair cases, lever - English, c1870
Good quality English lever movement, in earlier 18 carat gold pair cases.
MOVEMENT Nice quality gilded lever fusee movement, with compensated balance . Unsigned, but numbered (19612). All in fine original condition and running well. The movement is protected by a removable gilt brass dustcap.
DIAL Gold dial with engine turned centre and applied rose gold numbers. Nice condition throughout with no scratches or other damage. Nice matching gold hands.
INNER CASE Hallmarks for 18ct gold, London, 1806, maker IR (rubbed). Nice condition throughout with just usual light scratches. The case snaps shut nicely and the high dome bull's eye crystal is fine. The bow shows wear at the top.
OUTER CASE Gold hallmarks matching the inner. The hinge is fine but the catch is absent, so the case doesn't snap shut. Otherwise very nice condition throughout.
The cases, excluding crystal and movement, weigh just over 61 gms.
This nice quality movement was made around 1870 and fitted into these earlier fine gold pair cases. The dial is of a similar date to the cases (1806) so was probably fitted at the same time. The movement fits the case perfectly, and is held firmly with no play to the hinge, so has been professionally fitted. Free worldwide postage.
Payments by cheque, bank transfer, credit & debit cards and Paypal accepted.
