Georgian Stick Barometer Galli Edinburgh
A late Georgian mercury stick barometer. A mahogany case with ebonised edging. A swan-neck pediment with original bone finial and patterae. A long thermometer to the silvered scale. A well engraved register plate with sliding adjustable pressure marker and a brass tube top cover. The original cistern cover.
C Galli of Waterloo Place, Edinburgh is recorded in Banfields 'Barometer Makers' book as working c.1825.
