A Georgian mercury wheel barometer. A mahogany case with an architectural pediment and original brass finial. Fine inlays to the case and banding to the edges. A long thermometer scale. Silvered engraved dial and thermometer.

B Lanota of Portsmouth is listed in Banfields 'Barometer Makers and Retailers book as working from circa 1800-1820. This example dates to circa 1820.
