George V Silver Naval Fob, Page, Keen & Page, 1923

This is a smart George V Sterling Silver Naval Watch Fob. The fob is diamond shaped with a naval crown at the top and a lion passant on the body. This is almost certainly the badge of a small Royal Navy vessel or shorebase as these had diamond shaped badges at this time.
The fob was made in Birmingham for Page, Keen & Page and dates to 1923. Established in Plymouth in the 1830s by James Andrew Page, Page, Keen & Page were one of the foremost retail jewellers, watch makers and silversmiths in the city of Plymouth. With the city’s strong naval heritage, they inevitably produced and sold many items with a Royal Navy connection and also supplied many items to the civic authorities. The firm remained in business up until the Second World War.
Condition is extremely good, with no dings or dents and just the superficial surface wear that you would expect after over 100 years of good service. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The fob is 3.8cm from top to bottom and 2.9cm across. It weighs in at 8.6g of solid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks, on the back of the fob, are a little rubbed but can still be read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter y for 1923 and the P, K & P sponsors' mark for Page, Keen & Page.
Shipping in the UK is £5 by Royal Mail Tracked 24.
