Geo III 8" Mahogany Wheel Barometer - A.Rivolta
A good George III period Mahogany, double line and shell inlaid wheel barometer, the 8” dial signed “A.Rivolta, Chester, the whole surmounted with a broken arch pediment.
Ca. 1810
This maker is listed in “English Barometers, 1680 to 1860” by Nicholas Goodison and appears to be part of an illustrious family of Italian immigrant barometer makers. Wheel Barometer with 8 inch dial, mahogany, broken pediment, case inlaid with paterae of coloured woods
