Gents Tissot Seastar T12 automatic wrist watch
Gents Tissot Seastar T12 automatic wrist watch.
The watch has an automatic movement, Tissot 28.5R-21, which is working nicely. This calibre of movement was in production from 1952 until 1962. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 4311475 dates it back to 1958.
The watch is a good wearable size at 35mm wide excluding the winding crown and 35mm high excluding the lugs. The case is stainless steel and it has the Spanish galleon image to the back There are a couple of surface scratches to the back but overall the case is in good condition for a 1950s piece. The crown is a later replacement.
The lens is in good condition.
The signed dial has light freckling across it, difficult to see with the naked eye. Dauphine shaped hands, centre seconds sweep and outer minute markers.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
