Gents Seiko “jumbo” chronograph, 1976
Gents Seiko “jumbo” chronograph, 1976.
The watch has a 21-jewel 6138b automatic movement which is working nicely.
The watch measures 41mm wide excluding the winding crown and buttons, and 41mm high excluding the lugs. The case is stainless steel and overall the condition is good with general small marks, nothing too serious at all.
The screw-on case back has the model number 6138-3002 which along with the serial number 638651, dates it back to 1976.
The lens has a minor light graze but otherwise looks good. There are traces of a lens adhesive around the edge if viewed very closely.
The dial is in its original finish which looks good to the naked eye… again, if viewed closely, there is some marking to the finish, and a little infill loss to the minute hand. Day and date apertures, initially set by turning the winding crown clockwise or anti-clockwise at first position.
The chronograph feature is operated by pressing the top button to start and stop, and then the bottom button to re-set to zero.
The watch comes on its Seiko bracelet which currently fits a wrist of 18.5cm although there is capacity on the clasp to make it about 2cm smaller.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
Please contact us before placing international orders so that we can advise of shipping prices and to see if customs regulations allow us to post watches to your country.
The international buyer is responsible for paying any import duties and taxes.
All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the \'Buy Securely\' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
