Gents Seiko 5 Actus automatic watch, 1972.
The Seiko Actus line was a sub-brand of Seiko made for exclusively for the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market). The Actus variant had a higher jewelled movement and was marketed as “young, activity line”, compared to the standard Seiko 5.
The watch has a 21-jewel 7019A automatic movement which is working nicely.
The watch has a 36mm wide and 35mm high excluding the lugs. The case is stainless steel and it has light marking but overall very acceptable. The case back states that the watch is water resistant but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture.
The mineral lens is in lovely condition.
The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands, centre seconds hand and a day / date display (the date is quickset at first position). The day is available in English and Kanji. The dial is a silver grey colour with a pale bluish hue in some lights.
The watch comes on its signed Seiko stainless steel bracelet which currently fits a 17cm wrist (there is room on the clasp to make it around 1cm smaller if necessary). Some fairly light scratching to the clasp.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
