UK POSTAGE ONLY FOR THIS ITEM

Gents Omega Seamaster wrist watch, 1966.

The watch has an automatic movement, calibre 562, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number, 23,022,037, dates it back to 1966.

The watch measures 34mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The main body of the case is gold capped and it is in beautiful condition.

Gold capped is where a generous layer of 14k gold has been applied to the front and sides of the case and the bezel is solid 14k gold. It was said that the gold capping was so thick that it could hold its shape when not fitted to the case and apparently salesmen used to carry a sample of just the gold capping to demonstrate how strong it was.

The stainless steel screw-on case back has the raised Seamaster logo to the outside and Omega triangular logo to the inside, together with the case reference 166.009 which is correct for the calibre 562.

Signed Omega winding crown.

Omega lens in good condition, there is a light 3mm scratch towards the bottom of the lens but difficult to see with the naked eye.

The champagne dial is in super condition with original hands, seconds sweep and outer minute markers. The watch has an early form of quickset date where the hands are moved repeatedly backwards and forwards between 10 past midnight and 9pm.

A new leather strap has been fitted but the buckle with the Omega logo has been transferred for the previous strap.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
