Gents Omega Seamaster automatic watch, 1955 Omega wristwatch watch %%alt5%%
UK POSTAGE ONLY FOR THIS ITEM

Gents Omega Seamaster automatic watch, 1955.

The watch has a 19-jewel automatic movement, calibre 471, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 14,787,023 which dates it back to around 1955.

The watch measures 32mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs so although originally designed as a man’s watch, it would suit a slimmer wrist by today’s standards. The case is stainless steel and is in good condition for a 1950s piece with general light surface marks, nothing too detrimental.

The back of the watch is engraved R Taylor, 516078 WO, RAF. This relates to Russell Taylor who is listed as being in the RAF in 1925.

The inside of the case back has the Omega logo and 2828-2 SC which is correct for the calibre 471.

Later plain winding crown.

The lens has the tiny clear Omega logo to the centre. It is in good condition, just a little damage underneath the lens between 11 and 12.

The dial is in its original finish and has age related marking but it is evenly spread. Original hands, seconds sweep and cross hair detailing.

The watch comes on an after market vintage bracelet which fits a wrist of around 18cm although there is capacity on the clasp to make it around 1.5cm larger.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
