The watch has a good quality Swiss 17-jewel MSR hand-winding movement which is working nicely.
Marvin joined the MSR group (Manufactures d’Horlogeries Suisses Réunies) in 1970… this was a brave move at a strategic point in watch making history as manufacturers of mechanical watches struggled to survive with the growing popularity of quartz movements.
The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for London 1979 / 1980 (the letter at the London assay office changed in May).
The case is in good condition, just gentle unevenness to the back and light surface marks, nothing too serious at all. The back of the watch has a long service inscription from Swan Hunter Shipbuilders.
The lens is in lovely condition.
The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands, seconds sweep and outer minute markers.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in its Marvin Revue presentation box.
