Gents 9 Carat Gold Wrist Watch, 1921
Gents 9 carat gold wrist watch, 1921.
The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by a 9 carat gold hinged inner cover.
The watch itself measures 34mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the fixed wire lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside both of the back covers for Birmingham 1921 with a case maker's mark for Aaron Dennison. The Dennison Watch Case Company was an English company that supplied various watch manufacturers with cases. The case has some light marking but overall is in nice condition for such an early piece.
The watch glass is in good condition.
The enamel dial has a few hairline cracks to the left hand side but they are faint and you have to look quite closely to see them with a naked eye. Originally there would have been painted detail to the hands and numbers but this has been removed over the years.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch will be sent in a vintage presentation box from a Bath jeweller.
