Gents 1970 Tissot Seastar automatic wrist watch
Gents 1970 Tissot Seastar automatic wrist watch.
The watch has a 21-jewel automatic movement, calibre 784-2, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 12,947,993 which dates it back to 1970.
The watch measures 35mm wide excluding the winding crown and 36mm high excluding the lugs. The case is stainless steel. There is some surface marking but fairly light, not too detrimental at all. The inside of the screw-on case back is signed with the Tissot name and logo. Plain winding crown.
The lens is in good condition (some reflection showing in the photos).
The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands, centre seconds and date display (initially set by winding the hands backwards and forwards between 12 midnight and 9pm until the desired date is reached).
The watch comes on a later stainless steel bracelet, not Tissot. It currently fits a 17cm wrist… there is capacity on the clasp to make it about 1.5cm smaller. Light surface marking to the clasp.
The watch comes in a vintage Tissot presentation box although it is not original to the watch.
