The German company Zentra was founded in 1924 by Willi König and Willibald Felsing of the Zentralverband der Deutschen Uhrmacher (Central Association of German Watchmaking). By 1927, they had started to use the Zentra brand name on their watches.
In line with many other watch manufacturers of the time, the components for Zentra watches were bought in from various sources, with the cases usually from Germany and the movements bought in from either German ebauche manufacturers or Swiss ones, such as the movement we have in this particular watch.
The company moved to Cologne after the second World War and eventually ceased trading in the 1980s with the advent of quartz watches.
This particular watch has a good quality ETA hand-winding movement which is working nicely.
The watch is a good wearable size at 35mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold plated and it is in lovely condition. The case back is stainless steel.
The lens is in lovely condition.
The signed dial is in its original finish, all in super condition with original hands and centre seconds sweep (with some marking if you look closely).
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch will come in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
