Gents 1950s Cristal chronograph wrist watch.
The watch has a Landeron 148 17-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed Cristal. The name Cristal was registered by brothers Paul and Robert Vermont of Le Locle and La Chaux-de-Fonds, founders of Mondia Watches which was later taken over by Zenith.
The watch measures 38mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold plated. The front and sides are in good condition. The back of the watch has a stainless steel centre, it appears as though a back from another watch has been fitted, possibly to cover up damage.
The lens has light marking but you have to look closely to see it.
The dial is signed Rychell. This is different to the name on the movement but is obviously a period dial of the correct age which suggests the watch was probably made as a private label piece. There is a little marking to the dial but not too detrimental.
A later leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
