Full size Fijian Vunikau Tribal war club, c1790
A rare and stunning antique 18th Century Fijian Vunikau war club, c1790. The club has a mace-like skull-crushing head, and a grip with Lavatava geometric decoration.
It has great primitive tribal carving and appearance. We have collected several of the smaller throwing clubs over the years, but have never seen a full-size club before. At 44 inches (112 cm) this is an impressive piece. It is in good original condition, consistent with age and use - with minor surface wear and some age-related cracks to the wood.
It has aged well, with great colour/patina. Please refer to the detailed photographs and feel free to contact us with any questions or if you would like to view the item.
