Fine Satinwood Wheel Banjo Barometer
This is a particularly fine wheel barometer by Lione and Somalvico , 125 Holborn Hill , London who were working at this address from 1805 until 1822 . They are recognised as one of the finest instrument makers of their time . This instrument can be dated circa 1805.
The case is veneered in the finest Satinwood and is strung with boxwood and inlaid with kingwood , terminating with a swan neck pediment which runs from front to back, below which is a thermometer and a hygrometer.
The well engraved 10 inch silvered brass dial has a cast concave bezel and original hands The setting hand is adjusted remotely. At the bottom of the case is a small inset dial bearing the makers details and a spirit level. All three dials are fitted with convex glass.
This is a very attractive instrument which is in excellent , fully functioning condition and ready to go straight on the wall .
This instrument is 42 inches tall and 12 inches wide
At the full asking price I will deliver and set up the barometer free of charge in England , Wales and the Scottish lowlands and provide a 2 year guarantee.
Any lesser offers that are accepted will be considered a trade sale with the item sold as described but with shipping the responsibility of the buyer
