Figural Black Forest Tobacco Box - Owls c.1900
A rare find and an opportunity to own this splendid Black Forest Tobacco box as seen on page 73 of "Swiss Carvings / The Art of Black Forest 1820 - 1940 by Arenski & Daniels.
Made from Linden wood the box is modelled as a mother owl perching atop a tree stump with three baby owls at her feet, one with a worm in it's mouth, with a father owl below. all retaining their original glass eyes. By one of the Ruef Brothers c.1900.
A fantastic and highly collectible piece in excellent condition. 13 1/2" tall.
