Ercol Armchair 1940s
this ercol armchair dates to the 1940s austerity era it has a sprung seat base shaped arms and original drop in upholstered seat cushion
the condition of this vintage ercol occasional fireside armchair is good solid clean pre owned condition with just some normal signs of pre owned wear to the polished finish on the end of arms and at the bottom of the legs the drop in seat cushion would benefit with recovering with a new fabric.
ideal vintage chair for vintage styled period living
the ercol windsor chair was designed by Lucien Ercolani during ww2 after he was asked to supply chairs under the wartime utility antique furniture scheme.
the ercol windsor chair was shown to the public in the 'Britain Can Make it Exhibition which was held at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London in 1946 and also at the 1951 festival of Britain
