English Three Bottle Tantalus by Mappin and Webb Antique English Victorian %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A handsome large example of a silver plated Tantalus made by the top-notch London silversmith, Mappin and Webb and dating to c.1900.

The case comes with a working Bramah key, this is sprung and requires a slight push in and then turn. The lock barrel is then slid down to release the bar at the top allowing access to three large square hobnail cut decanters.

The glass is in excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age. An impressive example measuring a grand 15" x 7 1/4" x 13" tall to top of handle. Each decanter measuring 3 1/2" square x 9 1/4" tall.
