Elegant small Georgian mahogany hall table, desk
This is such an elegant Georgian side or hall table. The table dates to around 1820 and is made in solid mahogany. Just look at the simplicity of design. There is real elegance in this simplicity. Georgian antique furniture was made bespoke by cabinet makers. Georgian furniture has to be the most undervalued out there. Virtually all furniture after the Georgian times was factory made but this was made by craftsmen and the design is uncluttered so that pieces of furniture like this will happily sit with Antique retro or even modern antique furniture.
The side table has a bow front. The drawer has decorative brass handles. It is cockbeaded and made with fine dovetail joints. There is ebony and boxwood detailing and it stands on fine tapering legs.
The condition is good. Legs solid. Drawer runs well.
The table is 32 inches wide and 31 inches high and 19 inches deep.
This table will look good in a hallway or as a side or lamp table in a principal room. It could even be used for a computer and won't take up much of your room.
