A handsome antique Edwardian oak blanket box or coffer dating from circa 1910. Of panelled construction with carved front, with applied diamond lozenges, it has two attractive brass hinges and panelled top. The hinged lid lifts to reveal a large amount of storage space to the inside. In well-figured oak with good colour and patina. With label to inside which reads “Gullachsen & Son Ltd. House Furnishers. Newcastle-on-Tyne”. Lots of wear and old marks to the interior.

Good colour and patina. The lock dosesnt work, and the lid doesnt quite close properly – it needs a little press down when you close it. Quite a few old marks and scuffs to the interior, but otherwise in good order.
