Circa 1900, Edwardian mahogany pedestal desk. The rectangular top has a tooled and gilded green leather writing surface. At the fore edge there is an ogee moulding and beneath this at the front there is 1 long drawer with a raised fielded panel and 2 further smaller drawers each side of it. There is a reeded section between each of the drawers. The drawers have mahogany liners, stylish cast brass handles and a simple escutcheon. Beneath the top section there are 2 pedestals each with 3 graduating drawers. Again the drawers have raised beaded panels, cast brass handles and ribbing either side of the drawers. Beneath the bottom drawer there is a double ogee moulding and the whole piece stands on an enclosed plinth. The sides and the back are polished making the desk free standing. Clean, neat size pedestal desk.

Size 74cm high x 122cm wide x 68cm deep.
