Edwardian Art Nouveau Brass & Onyx Standard Lamp
This lovely standard lamp dates from the turn of the twentieth century. It has a lovely art nouveau brass tripod base, an onyx middle tier, and an adjustable telescopic inner column. It has been re-wired and is in good working order, although we would recommend that it be checked over by a qualified electrician prior to use. The lamp retains a shade of a similar age, which is possibly original.
Condition Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear as might be expected, and some tarnishing and slight surface corrosion to the metalwork. The piece would benefit from being cleaned and polished. The bottom central plate is dented at one side. As is mentioned above the lamp has been re-wired and it appears that a wooden block was fitted underneath the bulb holder at this time for safety reasons. The block is loose on the base. It is good working order, but we would recommend that it be checked over by a qualified electrician prior to use. The shade is overall grubby and faded and the inner lining is ripped and holed in places.
The approx. measurements are as follows
Overall - overall height is adjustable, 83cm high to onyx tier, 50cm diameter of base (to maximums). Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
