A fine quality Early Fusee Silver pocket watch By Samuel Bailey Newcastle-on-tyne
In excellent condition and working fine keeping time
With full English Hallmarks for Chester 1858
Lovely solid silver case strong top bow with original fixings ,case hinge all fine no spilts or repairs
Back of the case with cartouche no initials or monograms
Fusee chain driven movement with lovely engraved balance cock all very clean and with a strong tick,
Inner brass movement protector
Classic mid Victorian enamel dial with the larger sweep second hand dial , gold stake hands and slim style black hands all original , dial without cracks or chips
Crystal watch glass all fine without any major scratching
Samuel Bailey is listed in Loomes watchmaker directory making watches from 1850-1864 period so this watch fits nicely into this time period
Very nice old watch key with the watch, name Patterson of Edinburgh
Comes with the box shown in very good condition by famous Kings Cross London Jewellers Bravingtons
This watch has been in the same family for a very long time and looked after exceptionally well
not often you see such a lovely pocket watch like this 165 years old
