Beautiful 19thC Chinese carved wood & pewter tea caddy made by Tien Ho Cheng & Co (label) of Port Edward, Weihaiwei, a British leased territory on the northeastern coast of China (1898-1930). Exquisite carving of bats, butterflies and foliage. The handle of the pewter lid is a Manchurian Provinces (Qing dynasty) silver coin (19mm) for the ‘33rd Year of Kuang Hsu’ (1907).

Lovely condition, just a few minor nibbles to two of the feet.
