Danish Teak Royal Shelving System by Poul Cadovius
A fantastic Danish vintage teak wall mounting bookcase. This is called ‘the royal shelving unit’, it was designed by Poul Cadovius and made in Denmark by Cado. This dates from the 1960’s and was originally purchased in Heal’s.
It is a very versatile system, with a very clever yet simple design. The four vertical rails must be screwed to a wall, then the shelves and cabinets simply attach with angled dowels. Once the rails are in place it is very easy to interchange the shelves and cabinets.
The consists of two cabinets, one very deep shelf, three deeper shelves and five shallower shelves. The shelves are all supported by beautifully crafted chevron supports.
This is in exceptional condition with hardly any wear to be seen, we have given it a clean and fresh oil polish.
Width – 244 cm , 96 inches (80 cm each shelf/cabinet)
Depth – 40 cm , 16 inches
Depth – 33 cm , 13 inches
Depth – 24 cm , 10 inches
