A Cotswold School / Modernist desk / occasional armchair designed and made by Francis Zanker (1928-2023), Furniture designer, maker and lecturer (Loughborough) miid C.20th. Craftsman made in solid English walnut with exposed dovetails and through tenons. This chair oozes craftsmanship quality combined with modernist design. This chair came from the estate of the designer and was probably used as an exhibition piece.

Provenance: From the estate of Francis Zanker.

Condition: Offered in excellent original condition: cleaned and waxed. Original upholstery (some marks). The chair frame is incredibly firm and solid - testament to its design and craftsmanship.

Dimensions: Seat Height 18.5", Seat Width 16.75", Seat Depth 18" and Back Height 25". Overall Depth is approx 20". Arm height is 24.5" at the front of the chair and slope gently towards the back rest. Please note that the width between the arms is relatively narrow and will suit better those of a slight build.
