We are offering for sale this very well executed still life oil on canvas by the 20th Century Croydon artist CONSTANCE M. COOPER, who has signed the painting in the lower right hand corner. The painting is a still life of a Chinese temple jar filled with flowers. There are chrysanthemums, marguerites and asters. The lid of the temple jar is on the left of the jar itself.

This is one of a pair of paintings by this artist that we are listing this week.

CONSTANCE M. COOPER 1905-1998 is a twentieth century British artist, who lived in Croydon, Surrey. She studied at Croydon College of Art and was elected to the Society of Women Artists, becoming their Vice President. She was also the President of Croydon Art Society for 22 years. According to their website, she had a business in London employing 23 girls in the design and construction of lampshades for royalty. She was a great supporter of the Scout movement and was largely responsible for the Society raising and donating many thousands of pounds to charities, including the Scouts. At one time she lived at 35 Shirley Park Road, Croydon.

The painting is framed in a 3 1/4" ornate swept gilt frame and will be supplied wired and ready to hang.
