A beautiful 1950s Clover musical powder box in excellent condition complete with the original signed puff & sifter. The music box has a lid is adorned with a 24 karat gold Oriental Damascene landscape and so this would be an ideal golden wedding anniversary gift for her. The original certificate authenticating this music box as Damascene is present and it is fascinating to read, as it takes the reader through the elaborate process - Damascene is considered a symbol of good fortune. The inner lid is signed " CLOVER "'. It is superbly made with a good bevelled mirror. The brass is a deep rich gold & much of the interior & the whole base have an attractive brushed / gilt satinized finish. The music plays very well. I do not know what tune it plays. The original grey felt pouch is in excellent condition too.
This adorable musical powder box measures almost 9 cm X 6 cm & weighs 148 grams.
