Antique late 19th century hand carved Chinese panel, c 1890. This is a quality piece, heavy (0.9 kg) with great carving in relief. It is highly decorative depicting scholars/ figures around a table / board game . It is nicely decorated in gilt and lacquer and has aged well with great rich colour / patina. Overall condition is good with minor surface wear, small splits and minor losses of gilt. There are possibly some small historic repairs around the edge and there is an old stock number/marking to the rear.
