Here we have a wonderful piece of railway history. This is a Victorian Oak chest of pigeon holes for storing luggage labels from Broxbourne station c1890. You will see by the tickets of which several were in the chest that the acronym for GER and Framlingham dates the chest from between 1862 and 1922. It is made from solid English Oak and has a line from top to bottom on the left of doors. These open allowing the others to slide across each with its own separate compartment. A super period piece in great retail condition. The dimensions are approx 41 inches wide 6 iches deep and 36 high. I sent photos of this to the National Railway Museum and this was the response.

Again, I must apologise for the delay, but based on the photos and the dimensions of the pigeon holes, I doubt it is a ticket rack
However those dimensions are just about ideal for storing luggage labels, and as there appears to be a few examples still in the rack, I’d strongly suspect this was its purpose.
